It has been reported that on the early hours of today some armed men gained entrance into one of the University of Uyo hostels to dispocess students of their properties.
The incident which occurred in Uniuyo Hall 6 hostel- female students hall of residence, saw a female student stabbed.
An eye witness, one of the students residence of the hall says the armed men were four in number, she said they came armed with dangerous weapons and dispocessing students of their belongings: phones and laptops.
The stabbed female student was simply called by the name Emen. She was stabbed while trying to resist the armed robbers. She has since been taken to the Uniuyo hospital for medical treatment.
Some students of the institution said robberies, rapes and shooting has become a common occurrence in the campus at the moment. They believe such acts are most likely linked to the cultist. They said the authority of the institution should have found solution to the problem by now.
Such robbery incident happened two years ago when some gang of armed men forced themselves into CBN hall in a day broad light operation, dispossession students of laptop and phones.
Another one occurred this year when armed men were trying to get rid of students their phone and laptops though one of the suspects was later arrested.
