More Honour Comes The Way of Mayowa Abiru, Overall Best Student at Nigeria Law School

Mayowa Abiru the Overall Best Student at the Nigeria Law School (NLS) 2019 set continue to be celebrated and this time it was at the yearly Gani Fawehinmi Lecture which is always hold in remembrance of the iconic Nigerian lawyer and activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi.

The Overall Best Student was celebrated when he was honoured by some of the nation legal luminaries and was presented with a cheques of N200,000 for a job well done. This add to a numbers of prizes Mayowa Abiru has received due to his excellent performance, though all others were not cash.

Among the previous recognition and prize he had won are:

  • Council of Legal Education Star Prize
  • Most Promising Graduate Student of The Year.
  • Prize for First Class 
  • Overall Male Best Student
  • Overall Best Student
  • 3rd Prize in Ethics Skills
  • Overall Best in Corporate Law
  • Best Student of The Year and
  • Many others
Mayowa Abiru was a Second Class Upper law graduate from Backcook University in Ogun State and he was among the ten students that graduated from the Nigerian Law School  with First Class grade in 2019.

In the picture above, Mr. Femi Falana SAN, Mr. Dele Oloke, Mrs. Gani Fawehinmi and other members of NBA Ikeja branch presented the cheque of N200,000 to Mayowa Abiru.

The 16th Gani Fawehinmi Lecture was organised by Ikeja Brach of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and it was held last Wednesday, 15th of July, 2020 at Airport Hotel Ikeja.

Notable legal practitioners in attendance were Ugochukwu Ogakwu, Justice of Court of Appeal; Justice Adedayo Oyebanji of Lagos State High Court who was represented by Justice Kazeem Alogba; Olisa Agbakoba and Dele Asesina and host of others.
