To study Software Engineering at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, prospective students would have to apply to study Computer Engineering. This is readily available as a specialised programme and lasted the duration of four years.
Software Engineering will be taught students at 300 level of studying Computer Engineering. Everything the students have to learn about Software Engineering will be taught him during this time and it will be taught along with Advance Programming, Discrete Mathematics and Computer Engineering Design.
At the end of the programme, successful students will be awarded with Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Engineering.
