A Ghanaian University student and one other man have been sentenced to five years in prison with hard labour for posting online, a nude picture of a teenager girl.
Desmond Appleton and Elvin Boakye Agyemang Nana Kofi were convicted by an Accra Circuit Court for posting a nude picture and video of a 14 years old Junior High School, female student (name withheld) online an act which is punishable under Section 281 of Ghanaian law.
While Desmond Appleton was handed a 36 months jail term with hard labour the other person Elvin Boakye Agyemang Nana Kofi an unemployed man will serve a 24 months jail term with hard labour. .
Throughout the court proceedings, the two men pleaded not guilty of the crime but all the evidence provided in the court of law prove otherwise.
Both of them were charged for conspiracy to commit crime to wit child pornography, procurement of child pornography, possession of child pornography and publication of child pornography.
The verdict of the judgment was pronounced by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku the presiding judge
