Typical Entry Requirements 

GCE A/level

A*A*A - AAA including Mathematics, Physics and a science or social science subject

International Baccalaureate 

38 - 36 from total of 45 points with 7,7,6 - 6,6,6 at Higher Level including Mathematics and Physics

BTEC Extended

 D*DD plus A-level Mathematics at grade A*



GCSE and English Language Proficiency

No matter how good the qualification above are, candidates must provide their GCSE or its equivalent result and proof of English Language proficiency. 

Note; Proof of English language proficiency must be provided regardless of whether a candidate is domestic  student or an international student.


GCSE/IGCSE

Credit pass in 5 subjects including at least C4 in Mathematics, Physics and English language.

English language

GCSE: C4

TOEFL: IBT 90 with no sub-test below 22 

IELTS 6.5 overall with no sub-test below 6.5 

Pearson PTE 70 overall with no sub-test below 70

The engineering programmes at the University of Manchester are accredited by several professional engineering institutions, operating under the authority of the Engineering Council, UK.
