Department of Urban and Regional Planning, FUTA, Declared The Best in Nigeria

The Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the Federal University of Technology, Akure had been declared the best in Nigeria.

The declaration was made last week Thursday, 25th of July, 2019 by the Nigeria highest regulatory body for town planners and the allied professionals: The Town Planners Regulation Council of Nigeria. This is the second time in five years the institution would win the award.

It could be recalled that five years ago, the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, FUTA won same prize of the award for the academic year 2013/2014 and the prize presented to the official represented the department and the university on August 2014.

With the declaration of the department as the best in Nigeria, it could be adjudged then that FUTA is where Urban and Regional Planning could best be offer as a course in Nigeria.

On hand to receive this year award prize on behalf of the Vice Chancellor  Federal University of Technology, Akure Professor Joseph Fuwape were Professor Bloaji Kashim, Dean School of Environmental Technology, FUTA, Professor Felix Omole, HOD, Urban Regional Planning and Dr Kolawole Gbadamosi.
