University of Cambridge Student: My Parents Spent £0 On My Education

A Nigerian UK resident lady, last week graduated from the prestigious University of Cambridge with a degree in Sociology.

For her overwhelming joy she shared pictures of her graduation on Twitter hoping people to congratulate her and wish her well.

In her comments, the lady, Timi Sotire who was the Vice President of Cambridge University African Carribbean Society did not hesitate to let people know that her parents contribute no money to her education while at school.

Today my parents didn't stop going on about how they spent £0 on my education yet I still managed to cop a degree from the University of Cambridge! Feeling very grateful (and also tired)

The writter of this post believe she should not have posted such comments about her parents, moreso on social media.

She said £0. What about moral support? She did not say anything about that.

This writer believe that money, on many occasions does not amount to success. What if her parents spent so much on her but was unable to achieve this much? At least there were some people like her, that their parents spent a great deal of money on but yet not able to show any achievement worth of the money spent on them.

This writer also believe that the comment might not have changed anything about her parents but making them a mockery to the people in the society.
