Babatunde is Showing University of Ibadan Vice Chancellor Professor Olayinka A Pair of Shoes He Make
A 300 level student of University of Ibadan, Kareem Babatunde Yusuf has pleaded with his school Vice Chancellor Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka to patronise  his shoe making business.

This happened at Sultan Bello Hall on the university campus where the Vice Chancellor had gone to commend some of the school deans who just left and to receive the newly appointed ones into office.

The student courageously used the opportunity that Professor Olayinka was coming from  the meeting to show him a pair of new shoes he has made and thereby introduce his business to him.

Impressed by what he saw the VC took the Animal Science student into his office where he admired the work and give him some words of encouragement.

Babatunde made it known to the VC that he learned the work while in secondary school. He hope to go into the business fully after his university education, but he believes having a formal higher education will help him suucced and that is why he had come to have the university education. After graduatuin he will not need to look for job.

While commending the work of the student, Professor Olayinka stated that if student could get vocational skills combine it with their studies, it would be greatly rewarding for them. They would become job creators and thereby reduce unemployment in our society.

The Professor said,
In UI we know the importance of entrepreneurship and that is why we establish Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation where students are being taught how to develop vocational skills, package their innovation for economic benefits. This is the way to reduce crime and unemployment.

At the end of the day, the Vice Chancellor asked Kareem to go and make a shoe of his size, promising to buy it. This he did to encourage the him.
