Speaking about Medicine, not all universitites in Egypt run Medical Science programme. Among about 100 accredited universities in the country, only about half of the number have Faculties of Medicine while just seven are privates'.

Ben Suef University
The university medical science programme is adjudged to be 4th best in Egypt. The school is the fourth overall best in the country and eleventh best in Africa.
Cairo University
Cairo University's Faculty of Medicine is said to be the oldest in Egypt and in the Middle East at large having been established since 1887. The faculty is always refers to as Kasr Al-Ainy. To the faculty offer top medical care to people, the university established self evaluation Quality Assurance center at the faculty. This center work hand in hand with the institution Quality Assurance Department to make sure that everything is done in compliance with the set standards by the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation.
Kafrelsheikh University
Have the 6th best Medical Science programme in Egypt. Seven of the school nineteen faculties offers health related programmes. Kafrelsheikh University get autonomous in 2006 and within thirteen years of it existence, it was able to build it Medical Science programmmes as the sixth best in Egypt. The Teaching Hospital at Kafrelsheikh University parade 400 beds and it is receiving more than 1000 patients in a day. The school is building a new medical complex which is aim to host all the medical related faculties after which when completed, a cancer treatment center will also be built.
Ain Shams University:
Despite been in the position bracket 801-1000 among the world best universitites, Ain Shams University medical programme is eight best in Egypt.
Al Azhar University
Faculty of Medicine at Al Azhar University was founded in 1964. Post graduate programme started seven years after. Today the faculty has ten departments and they are: Anatomy, Parasitology, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Histology, Physiology, Community Medicine and Industrial Medicine, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. The faculty teaching hospital is called Al Zahran University Hospital.
Alexandra University
The medical science programme at Alexandra University is ranked 9th best in Egypt.
Assiut University
Is the tenth best university in Egypt where Medicine can be study as a programme. It Faculty of Medicine was established in 1960 just three years after the university was founded and it has grown to comprise of thirty one departments which includes but not limited to: Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, Parasitology, Pathology, Peadiatric, Pharmacology, Neurology and Psychiatry, Neuro suyrgery, Microbiology and Immunology, Histology, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Public Health and Community Medicine, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and Cardio Thoracic Care.
