Osun State University (UNIOSUN) Engineering Courses and Admission Requirements

University of Osun (UNIOSUN) started it engineering programme just immediately at the inception of the school in 2007 with the creation of College of Science, Engineering and Technology.

Two engineering courses pioneered the programme at the then newly established College of Science, Engineering and Technology and they were Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Twelve years after the establishment of the school, they arel running three engineering courses, training students how to solve life problems using different engineering techniques and operations.

Below is the list of all Engineering Courses available which students can apply for at UNIOSUN.

Mechanical Engineering

A five  years (10 semesters) programme leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering

Civil Engineering

A five year (10 semesters) programme leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

A five years course leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in  Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The programmes run for four years (8 semesters) or three years (6 semesters) for students who were offered admission through direct entry.

Admission Requirements

For a student to be considered for admission to study any of the above undergraduate engineering degree programme, he must have five credit passes from either
  • West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
  • Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)/NECO or
  • General Certificate in Education Examination (GCE)

The five credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and either Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or in some  instances Economics or Biology and it must not be at more than two sittings.

A student must also pass Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) after which he must also pass the Osun State University (UNIOSUN) post UTME, making the required Cut-Off Mark for his chosen engineering programme.

Admission are also granted those seeking enrolment for any of the above programmes through direct entry.
