Delta State University (DELSU) Engineering Courses and Admission Requirement

Option for students to study engineering courses at Delta State University, (DELSU) is limited. Presently, the institution only offers three engineering programmes on it campus in Abraka.

Before now, Delta State University was running five engineering courses and they were:
But, because the institution was unable to get the first two courses above the necessary accreditation, they have to dis-continued with running them. And so, at the present DELSU have three engineering courses running.

More engineering courses may still be added in the future especially the dis-continued ones, once they are able to get them approved and accredited.

Admission Requirements

For a student to be considered for admission to undergraduate degree of any of the above mentioned engineering programme he must have five credit passes from either
  • West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
  • Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) or
  • General Certificate in Education Examination (GCE)
The five credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and either Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Geography or Biology and it must not be at more than two sittings.

A student must also pass Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) after which he must also pass the Delta State University (DELSU) post UTME, making the required Cut-Off Mark for his chosen engineering programme.

Admission are also granted those seeking enrollment for any of the above programmes through direct entry.
