Civil Engineering is a profession of building environmental structures like house we live in, sewage system we use, road we walk on, drainages, all form of bridge and flyovers, railway line and other.

At Delta State University (DELSU) students are taught the fundamental principles and modern techniques for the designing, constructing, and managing all these structure in an efficient and cost effective ways.

Teaching and learning Civil Engineering at Delta State University (DELSU) started just immediately after the Oleh campus of the institution was established and it aim to graduates students with knowledge and skills to compete favourably in the labour market and to face ever growing challenges in the area of Civil and Structural Engineering.

Civil Engineering is taught at all level of programme at Delta State University (DELSU) It is a five years programme for students who were admitted to 100 level and lead to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Honour in Civil Engineering.

Listed below are the entry requirements to study the programme as JAMB/UTME applicants and Direct Entry applicants including the jamb and O'Level subjects combination. 

UTME (INDIRECT) Entry Requirements

Ordinary Level Subjects Requirements

To study Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Delta State University (DELSU) an applicant must have sat for and passed one or two of the following O'Level examinations.
  • West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
  • General Certificate of Examination (GCE) O'Level and 
  • Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) 
The applicant must have credit passes in at least five subjects which must include:
  • Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Physics
  • Chemistry and one other science subjects 
  • Biology
  • Technical Drawing
  • Further Mathematic.

JAMB/UTME Examination

The applicant must sit for JAMB coordinated Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), making the required cut off mark:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry and
  • English Language

Delta State University Post UTME

Having been successful in the JAMB/UTME, applicant must also participate in the DELSU post UTME and make the required scores for the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Delsu Pre-Degree Programme

Delta State University (DELSU) accept it pre degree result to 100 level of the Mechanical Engineering, provided a student make the required score and have necessary O/Level subjects combination 

Direct Entry Requirements

These following qualifications are accepted to 200 level of Mechanical Engineering at Delta State University.
  • GCE Advance Level (A/L): two (2) good passes in Mathematic and Physics.
  • National Diploma: Upper Credit in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or other relevant engineering programme from DELSU or other goverment approved institution
  • NABTEB's National Technical Certificate (NTC) with Credits in relevant technical programme.
  • JUPEB: Delta State University accept JUPEB result.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): applicant with HND in Mechanical Engineering with minimum bid Upper Credit may be considered for admission to 300 level of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at DELSU.
