The faculty consist of six departments which are teaching nine engineering courses as listed below:
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Mechanical and Environmental Engineering
- Agricultural Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Telecommunications Engineering
- Mechatronic Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Petroleum Engineering
All the courses above run for a duration of five, four or three years at undergraduate level (depending on the qualification a student use to gain admission) leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Degree. Award given at the postgraduate level for each of the course are Masters in Engineering (MEng); Post Graduate Diploma Engineerin (PGD) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering. As at the time of putting up this page Mechatronic, Petroleum, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering were not available at post-graduate level.
All the courses listed above are approved by National University Commission NUC and fully accredited by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria COREN.
For a student to be considered for admission to undergraduate degree through UTME (1) above, he must have five credit passes from either
A student must also pass Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) after which he must also pass the Bayero University, (BUK) post UTME, making the required Cut-Off Mark for his chosen engineering programme.
It is also required of a student to pass one of the three exams above before he could be considered for an admission by direct entry.
