This course is not available at Obafemi Awolowo University OAU Ile Ife at undergraduate degree level but instead, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers three undergraduate Computer Science and Engineering programmes as listed below:
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science and Mathematics and
- Computer Science and Economics
The three courses listed above run for a duration of five years leading to the award of BSc Degree Certificate and they are fully accredited by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria COREN.
- Students pursuing a degree programme in Computer Science and Economics are equipped with knowledge in Macro and Micro Economics principles and business management skill required for the application of computer to the data processing requirements of the banking industry, insurance industry, government agencies and others.
- Students who are pursuing a degree programme in Computer Science and Mathematics will be trained and imparted with in-depth knowledge of Mathematics which requires for the formulation and solution of problems in Science and Applied Sciences with computer skills.
- While students who choose to pursue a career as Computer Engineers will be taken through and imparted with a broad range of Computer Science programmes. They will do a lot of Mathematics and Electronics subjects and they will have opportunity to choose area of specialization between Advance Computer Engineering or Advance Software Application.
Software Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University OAU Ile Ife
This course is available at post-graduate degree level (Master and Doctorate Degree). That mean you must have completed your first degree programme in either Computer Engineering or Computer Science and Mathematics from OAU or any other recognised higher institution of learning in Nigeria or abroad before you can be accepted to do the programme.Share This.
