Some Students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Were Expelled For Examination Malpractices and Other Misconducts

The wrath of law has suddenly be-fallen some students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Ondo (RUGIPO) for going against some of the rules and regulations for their admission.

A publication by the Management of RUGIPO which was duly signed by O.E Olugosi for the institution's Director of Public Relations and Publicity stated that nine (9) students of the school were expelled while eighteen (18) others were suspended for examination malpractices and other offences.

The publication revealed that the decision to suspend and expelled the affected students was taken at the special meeting of the Board of Studies which was held on Friday, 17th of January, 2020 when the report from the Examination Malpractice Investigation Committee (EMIC) on 2nd semester examination of 2017/2018 Academic Session and 1st semester examination of 2018/2019 Academic Session were taken and they were found guilty of the offences.

According to the publication, the students were being punished for various offences which include but not limited to bringing in forbidden examination materials, insulting invigilators and copying one another examination  papers.

However, the names of the expelled students as published by the school management are:

  • Akinyemi Ayomide Omonike: Science Laboratory Technology.
  •  Aworinde Temidayo: Science  Laboratory Technology.
  • Salami Bankole Desmond: Science Laboratory Technology and
  • Oladejou Funmilayo Folasade: Science Laboratory Technology.
