The management of University of Lagos (UNILAG) yesterday hosted delegates from US Fulbright.
The delegates were in the UNILAG for an afternoon service outing during which they took time to chat with staff and students of the prestigious institution.
The visit of the delegates has to do with encouraging sustainable volunteer service between the US Fulbright and the local universities including capacity building, highlighting the importance of giving back to the society and expanding the mission of the Fulbright of increasing mutual cultural understanding and so on.
The delegates also paid a courtesy visit to the UNILAG Vice Chancellor Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe (FAS) at his office.
On hand to receive the delegets on behalf of the Vice Chancellor of the University was Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics and Research, Professor Oluwole Familoni and with him was Acting Director of the Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Centre, Dr. Ayodele Shittu.
The Fulbright delegates led by Mr. Clemson Ayegbusi of the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria include: Dr. Omotayo Banjo of the University of Cincinnati; Prof. Mejai Avoseh of the University of South Dakota; Gabrielle Lewis of James Madison University; Breanne Lott of the University of Arizona; Prof. Edith Onyeozili of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University; Dr. Chinyere Ukabiala of Grinnell College, Iowa, and Dr. Aaron Michael Carter-Enyi of Morehouse College, Atlanta.
