FUOYE agricultural and bioresources entry requirements
While it is the work of farmers to cultivate plant and livestock, the Agricultural Engineers  focus on how to improve the farmers work by designing, constructing, installing and maintaining farming equipments and machinery.

The major area of specialisation of Agricultural Engineers are:
  • Farm Power and Machinery
  • Agricultural Product Processing and Storage
  • Soil and Water Conservation (SWE)
  • Farm Structures and Environment
Agricultural Engineering is the  application of the principle of Engineering for the improvement and sustainability of farm products. The Agricultural Engineers reseach and develop series of equipment and tools that are used in the above listed area of specialisation to improve the quality and quantity of farm products.

At FUOYE Agricultural Engineering is combine with Bioresourses Engineering which is the application of Engineering and Biological Science to the improvement and sustainability of world natural resources.

To study Agricultural and Bioresourses Engineering at FUOYE, application must be made either as JAMB'S UTME candidates or as DIRECT ENTRY candidates.

UTME Candidates

Students must have minimum of credit passes in five O/L subjects from:
  • WASSCE: West African Senior School Certificate of Examination
  • GCE: General Certificate of Education or
  • SSCE: Senior Secondary Certificate of Examination 
at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include:
  • Physics
  • Mathematic
  • English Language and 
  • Chemistry 
  • Biology or 
  • Agricultural Science
The student must sit for, pass and make the cut off mark for the UTME.

The UTME subjects combinations are:
  • Physics 
  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry and
  • English Language
He must also sit for and pass Federal University, Oye Ekiti post UTME making the Cut-Off mark for the Department of Agricultural and Bioresourses Engineering.

Direct Entry Candidates

For a direct entry applicant to be considered for an admission to study Agricultural and Bioresourses Engineering at Federal University Oye Ekiti, he must have the following:

GCE A/L: at least passes from two subjects (Physics and Mathematics) to be considered for 200 levels

National Diploma (ND): Upper credit in relevant engineering programmes to be considered for 200 level.

Higher National Diploma (HND): Upper credit in relevant engineering programmes to be considered for 300 level.

Pre-degree programme is available to those who will like to study Engineering. Admission is into 100 level but minimum entry requirements must be met.

All these plus the credit passes in five O/L subjects as listed above.

Agricultural and Bioresourses Engineering is a five (5) years programme at FUOYE leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree certificate on successful completion of the study.
