School of Engineering Courses and Requirements | Machakos University

Machakos University pride itself as one of the top universities in Kenya where leaders and engineers in the field of Mechanical Engineering are made for the advancement of the country to fulfil vision 2030 which aim to transform Kenya into a flourishing and industrialize country with citizens living in wealth. 

For the purpose of excellent in teaching and learning, the School of Engineering at Machakos University leaves no stone unturn in providing adequately stock libraries, well equipped laboratories and state of art workshop plus qualifies academics with experience in engineering sector. 

The School of Engineering at Machakos University offers four programmes but below are listed the three engineering programmes the school paraded and the general minimum entry requirements.

• Electrical & Electronics Engineering

• Civil Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

Each of the programmes listed above lasted a minimum duration of ten (10) semesters on full time study mode, while Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree is awarded on successful completion of any of the programmes.  

Entry Requirements  

The is general entry requirement and it is meant for the holders of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and the Holder of Diploma 

• KCSE Mean Grade C+ (Plus) minimum of B+(Plus) or equivalent in Mathematics and Physics and B(Plain) in Chemistry and English   

OR

• KCSE Mean Grade of C (Plain) or equivalent with a Diploma of Credit pass in relevant field of study from a recognized institution.   

Note: in addition to the above general requirements there could be departmental requirements which may vary from time to time. 

Accreditation  

Each of the engineering programmes at Machakos University as mentioned above are duly accredited by the Commission for University Education (CUE) and the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
