FUTA is among few number of the Universities in South West where Mining Engineering is taught. If you are planning to study this programme, think FUTA especially if you are not ready to go east where many of the universities there run the programme.
FUTA is teaching Mining Engineering to train students and equipped them with necessary skills required to perform effectively and efficiently in the mining industry and thereby developing the sector.
Mining Engineering is a five years programme at FUTA for those who gained admission through UTME. Direct Entry admitted students will spend fewer number of years depending on the qualification with which the admission was granted. By the time the students are graduating they must have acquired the academic and practical skill to properly operate in the area of surface mining, underground mining, mining management and mineral economic, rock mechanics, mineral processing, mine environment and safety and others.
