Another thing of interest is that the Nigerian premier university, the University of Ibadan reclaimed the top spot for the best university in Nigeria having lost that position to Covenant University, Ota, the only Nigerian private university to be represented on the ranking. The last time University of Ibadan was on the top spot of the best university in Nigeria was 2018 and then, only two Nigerian universities were represented in the ranking. But for Covenant University, it drops to 4th place having being on the top place for previous two years.

Another thing that make this year ranking interesting is that, new two Nigerian universities break into the list and they are Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife and Lagos State University (LASU). In fact LASU have to beat two other universities that had been previously represented to clinch the second place of the Best Universities in Nigeria.
