Ibadan City Polytechnic is one of the five private polytechnics located in Oyo State. The number was five at the time this page was being put up.

Ibadan City Polytechnic was established in 2014 by a Proprietor, Mr. Amos Ajanaku and  was officially licensed in 2015 to operate as an educational institution in Nigeria. The school was established to  provides technical and entrepreneurial educational services to prospective students from anywhere in Nigeria and those from abroad.

Ibadan City Polytechnic Accreditation Status

Federal Government of Nigeria through Federal Ministry of Education (FME) licenced Ibadan City Polytechnic in 2015 to operate as an educational institution.

Ibadan City Polytechnic and all it taught courses are also accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

This mean

Graduates from the school, are eligible to participate in the recommended one (1) years NYSC programme. 

They can apply to further education at other higher institutions of learning in Nigeria or abroad using a qualifications from the school.

The graduates from the school can get a desire job in Nigeria or elsewhere using a qualification from the school.

  • Statistics
  • Accountancy
  • Computer Science 
  • Computer Engineering and Technology
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering
All the above listed courses except accountancy are taught at Higher National Diploma and National Diploma.

Ibadan City Polytechnic Entry Requirements 

Minimum entry requirements to study any of the courses above is five (5) credit pass in five subjects relevant to the course a student apply to do.

The five credit passes which must include English Language must not be more than at two sitting from one or two of :
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE)
  • Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
  • West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE)

Note: Mathematics is compulsory for.those applying to do engineering related courses.

Holders of the underlisted qualifications may also be considered for admission.

JAMB's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination

Applicants must also participate in the JAMB coordinated UTME and Ibadan City Polytechnic coordinated post-JAMB screening.
