Emory University is the second oldest of few private higher institution of education in Georgia. The university is popular, prestigious and is well rated by all the major and influential ranking systems in the world.

Despite all these, the institution is not offering any specialised  engineering programme on it own either as major or minor. And so, the school parades neither a School of Engineering nor a Department of Engineering.

So if you are out looking to know whether Emory University is good for engineering or not, then the response is No. It cannot be rated in engineering field of study.


Emory University Engineering Science

What Emory University is teaching is Engineering Science, a programme that specialises on the general application of various established mathematical and scientific principles to the analysis, evaluation and solutions of  human and engineering problems 

Engineering Science at Emory University is taught at the Department of Physics.

Dual Degree Engineering Programme

Dual Degree Engineering programme is developed jointly by Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. 

It is design to afford undergraduate students of Emory University who wish to study an engineering programme to do so.  The programme lasted a duration of five (5( to six (6) years and this depend on the area of study of a student.

Dual Degree Engineering Programme is design in such a way that a participating student will spend the first three (3) years at Emory University studying one of the school available arts, humanity studies, social sciences or physical sciences programme after which on successful completion he then move on to Georgia Institute of Technology to study any of his desire engineering major.

There are eleven (11) engineering major available to choose from at Georgia Institute of Technology. It is important to note that a student applicant must fulfill the prerequisites to study for any of the engineering major at GIT before he could be considered for the programme.

On successful completion of the study two degrees are issued to a graduating student: A Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
