As an O'level art or a commercial student, your studied subjects at secondary school should be: Mathematics and English Language and five or six of the following

As an art of a commercial students, five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any other three (3) subjects above eligible you to study the under listed courses at MAPOLY.

- Hospitality Management
Note: for any courses, Literature in English or Oral English are not acceptable as a substitute for English Language.
Subjects Combination
For Accounting and Banking & Finance
Other three (3) subjects accepted by MAPOLY are from:
- Economic/Commerce/Business Method/Book Keeping/Financial Accounting/Principles of Account. (Compulsory)
- Government/History
- Literature in English
- Geography
- Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo
- CRS/Arabic
For Business Administration and Marketing: Economics or Commerce is compulsory
For Mass Communication
The three (3) other subjects should be from Government/History, Economics, Geography, Business Studies/Method, English Literature, Biology, Accounting/Book Keeping, (Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo/French), CRS/Islamic Religion Study.
For Leisure and Tourism
Aside Mathematics and English Language, Geography is also compulsory. Then two other subjects from Economics/ Commerce, History, Book Keeping, Principles of Account, Fine Arts, French, Food & Nutrition, Home Economics, Government and one Nigerian language.
Hospitality Management
Though Hospitality Management is not counted as one of the art or a commercial courses but a commercial or an art student can still study the course at MAPOLY, especially if the student have Biology and Home Economic/Catering/Food and Nutrition at credit pass in his result.

- Biology/Agricultural Science/Food & Nutrition and two of
- Home Economics
- Government
