Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree teaches just four (4) engineering programmes among which is Civil Engineering. The four programmes are those commonly taught among the polytechnics and the universities in the country.
Civil Engineering Technology at OSPOLY is taught at the Faculty of Engineering Technology, awarding National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) to successful students.
Detailing below are the minimum entry requirements accepted by the Department of Civil Engineering Technology, Osun Poly for an applicant to be given admission to either ND or HND.
ND Civil Engineering: Admission Requirements
For ND Civil Engineering Technology, OSPOLY accept five O'level credit passes in the following subjects combination:
WAEC O'level Subjects Combination.
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Chemistry
- Physics and any one
- subject from:
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Technical Drawing
- Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity
- Wood Work
- Metal Work
- Further Mathematics
- English Language,
- Geography,
- Economics/Commerce.
The five credit passes must be at not more than two sittings from one or two of the following examination qualifications.
- West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE)
- Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
- General Certificate of Education (GCE O'level) or
- NABTEB
JAMB Subjects Combination
Despite having O'level result that qualify you for admission, you still have to sit for, pass and make cut off mark for JAMB coordinated Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and OSPOLY post-UTME screening for the Department of Civil Engineering Technology.

HND Civil Engineering
You are not eligible to apply to study HND Civil Engineering Technology at Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) if you've not completed your National Diploma and participated in post-ND industrial training.
Entry Requirements
- National Diploma (ND): minimum of lower credit in Civil Engineering Technology or other relevant engineering programmes from OSPOLY or from other NBTE accredited institutions in Nigeria.
- Evidence of one year post-ND industrial training.
- ND pass is accepted but with at least two years of industry work experience.
- Transcript from former institution of learning. This is applicable to students coming from other institutions
- O'level result as stated above.
