UNILAG Systems Engineering and Entry Requirements

University of Lagos (UNILAG) is one of the two universities for Systems Engineering in Nigeria. That is one of the two where a degree in system engineering is awarded.

O'level Applicants 

Credit passes in five relevant subjects at not more than two sittings from one or two of the following O'level examination qualifications.

  • WASSCE 
  • NECO SSCE 
  • GCE O'level
  • NABTEB

WAEC Subject Combination 

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Department of Systems Engineering accept five credit passes in: 
  • English Language 
  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry 
  • Further Mathematics  or 
  • Technical Drawing 
  • Biology 
  • Geography 
  • Economics 
An O'level applicant must sit for, pass and make the cut of mark for JAMB coordinated UTME and for the Department of Systems Engineering UNILAG's post UTME screening.

JAMB Subjects Combination 

  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry and 
  • English Language 

Direct Entry Requirements 

  • GCE A'Level: good passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
  • JUPEB: good passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics 
  • National Diploma (ND): upper credit in relevant engineering disciplines to 200 level 
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): upper credit in relevant engineering disciplines to 300 level. 
Relevant engineering disciplines include: chemical, civil, mechanical, electrical and electronics, computer, metallurgical and materials and petroleum and gas engineering. 

Plus: O'level subjects combination.
