Electrical and Electronics Engineering Charles Darwin University

At Charles Darwin University (CDU), you cannot apply to study Electrical and Electronics Engineering directly, but you can earn three different qualifications in it walking these pathways.

The Associate Degree of Engineering:

One of the pathways for a student  to earn a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Charles Darwin University is for him to choose to study associate degree of engineering, a two years, full-time courses.

The course is design to equip student with basic skills needed to solve common engineering problems and as a foundation to earn a Bachelor of Engineering Honours.

The course allow student to choose Electrical and Electronic Engineering as a field of specialisation and so the Associate Degree in Engineering of Electrical and Electronics is awarded on the completion of the study.

Bachelor of Engineering Honour.

A students could choose to study Bachelor of Engineering Honours, a four (4) year, full time study mode course.

The course equipped student with advance skill on how various engineering discipline functions in relation to one another and later allow student to choose Electrical and Electronic Engineering as his area of specification.

Unlike Associate Degree of Engineering, graduates are awarded with Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and are eligible to apply for membership with Engineers Australia.

Bachelor of Engineering Science

The course is more specific on hands-on practical training to enhance future career of students as engineering technologists.

It is three (3) year course on full time study mode. To be eligible for registration with Engineers Australia to become a professional engineer a student could combine the course with a two (2) year Master of Engineering.

Bachelor of Engineering Science allowed a student to choose Electrical and Electronics Engineering as his area of specialisations but he will practice as a technologist.

Bachelor of Engineering Science/Master of Engineering

This course is a five (5) years on full time study mode. The Bachelor of Engineering Science is run concurrently with Master of Engineering. This an advantage to a student who could have used six (6) years to obtain both qualifications if you had done the programmes separately.

The course also allow a students to choose Electrical and Electronics as his area of specification and most importantly, upon completion it qualify a recipient of the degree to be recognized as a professional engineer by the Engineers Australia.
