If you are on this page because you are out looking for information about Aerospace Engineering at CQUniversity, you are at the right place. It is important to state straight that Central Queensland University (CQUniversity) doesn't offer Aerospace Engineering as a taught course what it teaches instead, is Bachelor of Aviation.

There is a difference between the two courses as stated below. 


Aerospace Engineering 

This is an engineering discipline and it focus on the studying, designing, developing, operating and maintaining flying machines like rockets, aircrafts, spaceships, satellites and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV).

Aviation Courses CQUniversity 

Aviation is all about air transportation. This is what Central Queensland University offers both domestic and international students. It revolve around all the systems available to make air transport save and smooth running including aircraft maintenance, air traffic control, piloting and airline management. 

Aviation courses at the CQ is design primary to train and develop highly skill commercial pilot and other flight operation personnel. It help students obtain commercial pilot licence or command instrument rating after graduation. 

Central Queensland University offers four aviation qualifications, one of which a students is eligible to choose depending on the career path he wish to go. 

  • Bachelor of Aviation: this is an ideal for student who aspire to take a course in flight operation management and I'm airline and airport operation.
  • Bachelor of Aviation (Commercial pilot): a student who aspire to become a commercial pilot should go for this course. The courses armed students with skill to becoming professional commercial pilot and gain command instrument training.  
  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology: this courses is a perfect choice for student who will like to take a career as an aircraft maintenance engineer. It is a three (3) year, full time course available to both domestic and international students online and on campus.  and 
  • Graduate Diploma of Aviation (Filgt Operation): this is one (1) year post graduate course. It is design for people have earned a qualification in aviation and that is the reason CQUniversity says the precedents to study the course are: an application must have completed Term 1 of the first year of the Bachelor of Aviation (Flight Operations) or must have obtained Associate Degree of Aviation (Flight Operations)

All the courses above except Graduate Diploma of Aviation run for three (3) years on full time study mode. Each could be study on part time but requires longer time to be completed.
