The appointment of the amiable engineer follows the retirement of the erstwhile substantive Rector Dr. John Taiwo Adekolawole.
The appointment of Engr. Dr. Joseph Olawole Petinrin to serve in the acting capacity until the sixth substantive Rector is appointed was by the 6th Governing Council of the Polytechnic led by Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada Rtd.
He officially assumes duty today November 3rd 2022 and will hold forth until a substantive Rector is announced.
Until his appointment, he was the Deputy Rector Academics of the Polytechnic.
The retired Dr. John Taiwo Adekolawole was the fifth substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede. The hardworking rector bowed out of the office after a five years meritorious, pragmatic and quality service with unparalleled and undeniable legacies and achievements.
Under his watch, Federal Polytechnic Ede became a world class institution and emerged 7th best Polytechnic in Nigeria two years in a row. His legacies and achievements will forever remember by all at the institution and the Osun State as a whole.
