Agricultural Engineering is taught at Niger Delta University (NDU) to develop engineers with skills to develop or improve processes, machines, equipment and tools with aim to improving the quality and quantity of farm produce.
Agricultural engineers design the tractors, harvester, silos, ploughs, planter and many other machines and tools use on farm.
Listed below are the minimum entry requirements accepted by the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Niger Delta University (NDU) for it's undergraduate degree programme. This include for the O'level students and for the direct entry applicants plus the WAEC and JAMb subjects combinations.
Admission Requirements for O/Level Students
Five O/level passes in the following subjects:
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Chemistry
- English Language and one of
- Technical Drawing
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Further/Applied Mathematics
- Geography
From one or two of the following examination
- West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
- NECO/SSCE
- General Certificate of Education
JAMB Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations
The Department of Agricultural Engineering, Niger Delta University expect you to sit for, pass and make cut off mark for UTME.

NDU Pre-degree Programme
An O/level applicants could also do NDU Pre-degree Programme to facilitate his admission to study Agricultural Engineering. This programme admit students to 100 level.
Admission Requirements for the Direct Entry Applicants
Niger Delta University (NDU) accept these following qualifications and grades for direct entry admission processes.
- GCE Advance Level (A/Level): at least three (3) 'A' Level passes or equivalents in Physics, Mathematics/Further Mathematics and Chemistry
- National Diploma (ND): upper credit and above, in the relevant engineering programmes from an approved polytechnic or related institution.
- Higher National Diploma (HND): as for National Diploma above but while holders of the GCE A/L and ND are considered for admission to 200 level of the 500 level programme, holders of HND will be considered to 300 level.
- JUPEB: good grades in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to be considered to 200 level.
- Plus five credit passes as for O level above.
Agricultural Engineering at Niger Delta University lasted a minimum duration of five (5) years for those admitted to 100 level and it is approved by NUC and accredited by the COREN.
