O/level applicants must make the cut off mark for the JAMB coordinated UTME and the Department of Chemical Engineering screening cut off mark.

Direct Entry Minimum Requirements
- Advance Level (GCE/JUPEB): minimum of C grade in two advance level subjects, Mathematics and Physics.

Alex Ekwueme Federal University Pre-Degree Programme
O/level students who lack merit in UTME to gain admission to the undergraduate Chemical Engineering could register for the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Pre-Degree Programme to facilitate their admission.
Note: admission by just O'Level qualifications and Pre-degree programme qualify applicants to 100 level of the course, while those giving an admission by direct entry are admitted to 200 or 300 level depending on the qualification submitted.
