Ambrose Alli University (AAU) offers civil engineering to both the international and domestic students and lasted at least five (5) years on a full time study mode for those admitted by JAMB to 100 level of the programme. 

The Faculty of Engineering AAU teaches this course to produce civil engineers who are ready for the job market in any civil engineering endeavor immediately after graduation. 

Listed below are the minimum entry requirements by the Department of Civil Engineering, Ambrose Alli University (AAU). This include for the school certificate holders and the direct entry applicants plus the WAEC and JAMB subjects combination. 

WAEC Subjects Combination for O/level Applicants 

Five (5) SSC credit passes which must include:
  • Physics,
  • Chemistry 
  • Mathematics,
  • English Language and one science subject: 
  • Biology 
  • Technical Drawing 
  • Pure Mathematics 
  • Agricultural Science  

The credit passes must not be more than at two sittings from one or two of the following examinations: 
  • West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 
  • NECO/SSCE 
  • General Certificate of Education

JAMB  Coordinated Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination 

O/level applicants must sit for, pass and make cut of mark for UTME  and the screening exercise for the Department of Civil Engineering, AAU. 

JAMB Subjects Combination

  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry and 
  • English Language 

Ambrose Alli University Pre-Degree Programme 

Students with poor performance in UTME could opt for AAU Pre-degree to facilitate their admission to study Civil Engineering. 

Direct Entry Requirements 

The Department of Civil Engineering, Ambrose Alli University (AAU) accept the following post secondary school qualifications for direct entry admission. 
  • National DIploma (ND) Upper credit in relevant engineering programmes. 
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) lower credit in relevant engineering areas 
  • A' Level (GCE; JUPEB:  passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

Plus O/level UTME requirements.


Note: the holders of the SSC and Pre-degree qualifications are admitted to 100 level, ND and Advance Level holders to 200 while HND are admitted to 300 level.
