Civil Engineering and Entry Requirements | Baze University Abuja

The Department of Civil Engineering at Baze University, a private institution in Abuja was established and has been designed to graduate highly skill engineers that will meet the challenges of the modern world in critical areas such as transportation, construction, environment, management and in research. 

Civil Engineering is one of the engineering courses with which Baze University started it's Faculty of Engineering in 2015. It is a five (5) year course which award Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering at undergraduate degree level. 

Listed below are the entry requirements to study for the Bachelor of Engineering (Eng) degree in Civil Engineering at Baze University, Abuja. This include for the O/level and the direct entry applicants plus the WAEC and JAMB subjects combination.  


Admission Requirements for Civil Engineering, Baze University 

WAEC Subjects Combination 

O/level credit passes in five subjects not more than two sittings which must include: 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry 
  • Mathematics 
  • English Language and one 
  • Science Subjects  
From one or two of the following examinations 
  • West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 
  • NECO/SSCE 
  • General Certificate of Education

JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation  Examinations 

An O/level applicants must write, pass and make the cutoff mark for JAMB coordinated Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and for the Department of Civil Engineering, Baze University post UTME screening. 

JAMB Subjects Combination 

  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry and 
  • English 

Baze University Pre-Degree Programme 

Baze University runs foundation Pre-degree programme. An O/level student with disadvantage UTME result could enrolled to facilitate his admission to study undergraduate Civil Engineering. 

Application for admission by just 0/level result or Pre-degree result eligible a student to 100 level. 


Direct Entry Requirements, Baze University 

  • Advance Level (GCE/IJMB/JUPEB): credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry 
  • National Diploma (ND): upper credit in relevant engineering courses.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): upper credit in relevant engineering courses.  
  • Plus O/level result as stated above

Note: Holders of A/Level result and ND are admitted to 200 level while HND holders are admitted to 300 level. 


Civil Engineering Accreditation, Baze University 

Civil Engineering as a course at Baze University, Abuja is accredited by the National University Commission (NUC) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
