But one event at the graduation that thrilled this writer was the presentation of award to the overall best student of the 2023 class. The award recognized the hard work and consistency of the students of the institution.
The graduation ceremony which took place on the Kikungiri Hill, on the main campus of the university saw Mike Mashemererwa pronounced the Best Overall Male student for the graduating year.
Mike Mashemererwa was from Faculty of Engineering, Technology, Applied Design and Fine Art where he earned a Bachelor degree Applied Design and Fine Art.
The 2023 graduation ceremony which was held between 29th of May and 2nd of June witnessed a total number of 1277 (males: 754 and females: 523) students graduated across the eight (8) faculties of the institution. Among this number 32 (21 males and 11 females) students were pronounced to have graduated with First Class Degree. One Nyakake Kabugo was pronounced best female student.
Various qualifications including diplomas, bachelors, post graduate diploma and masters degrees were conferred on the graduands.
