The Department of Civil and Construction Engineering at the University of Nairobi expect an applicant for Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree to posses the following:
Secondary School Leavers
Mean grade of at least C+ in KCSE. At least C+ in each of the four cluster subjects from any of the following alternative clusters.
Alternative A:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Biology or Geography or any Group IV Subject
Alternative B:
- Physical Sciences
- Biological Sciences
- Mathematics
- Geography or any Group IV Subject
Group IV Subjects:
- Home Science Building Construction
- Art and Design Power Mechanics
- Agriculture Electricity
- Woodwork Drawing and Design
- Metalwork Aviation Technology
A-Level Candidates
This apply to students with qualifications higher than the school leaving ones.
- A'level Credit passes in Mathematics and Physics and a pass in Chemistry
- KNEC Higher National Diploma (HND) or Equivalent in relevant engineering programme
- Ordinary KNEC Diploma or equivalent (with credit pass) in relevant engineering programmes.
- Diploma from Science/Technical Teacher Training Colleges
Relevant engineering programmes in 2 & 3 above include Agricultural Engineering, Geospatial Engineering, Electrical engineering Civil engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
