ITF Paid Official Visit to NMU Toward Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme

Some official of the Industrial Training Fund, Nigeria have paid a working visit to the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State. 

The visit which saw all the SIWES  coordinators at all the tertiary institution in Delta State present serve three purpose: 

  1. To discuss the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES). 
  2. To bolster collaboration and 
  3. To strengthening the relationship between the institution and ITF. 

A publication made available to the public stated that the visit gives room to ITF to explore opportunities for partnership and engagement in the areas of vocational training, skill development, and entrepreneurship with the NIgeria Maritime University with a shared vision of equipping students with practical and industry-relevant skills. 

More precisely the visit provides a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and the identification of potential areas of collaboration.

During the visit, representatives from ITF had the opportunity to interact with university officials, faculty members, and students. This engagement facilitated discussions on innovative training programs, internships, apprenticeships, and other initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry.

While commenting on the visit, the management of Nigeria Maritime University stated have this to say, 

We believe that the collaboration between our university and ITF will not only benefit our students but also contribute to the overall economic development of the region.
