The announcement of the appointment was made public by the institution Principal Asst Registrar (Corporate Affairs), Mr. Michael Bamigbola.
It should be recalled that Prof. C. O. O. Kolawole was appointed acting Vice Chancellor of Trinity University, Yaba in September, 2023 after the demise of the first substantive Vice Chancellor: Professor Charles Korede Ayo.
The announcement by Mr. Michael Bamigbola stated that between the six months of his appointment in the acting capacity, Professor Kolawole was able to make his mark.
He has actively promoted scholarship, in all spheres. He worked hard and was able to increase the student population, created more awareness for the university and boosted its image.
Kokawole led, up to the conclusion, the process of upscaling Nursing Science from a department to a faculty, among other achievements.
A major landmark under Professor Kolawole’s tenure, according to Mr. Michael Bamigbola statement was the successful convening of the maiden convocation ceremonies on Friday, February 23, 2024, with the active support of the Governing Council and other stakeholders.
