Clarisse Iradukunda is part of the thirty (30) exceptional students drawn from around the world that form the fourth cohort of the beneficiaries of the $200,000,000 gift scholarship made in 2019 by John and Marcy McCall MacBain.
Clarisse Iradukunda is from Rwanda and she is just one of the three (3) scholars from Africa universities that make the list. She graduated from the University of Rwanda earning a first degree in General Medicine and Surgery in 2023 and earn a Master of Science degree in Public Health from Mount Kenya University in 2023.
On the McCall MacBain Scholarship, she is joining McGill Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences to pursue MSc in Human Nutrition with a focus to work as a clinical specialist.
Besides her clinical practice, Clarisse runs a campaign team that raises awareness about cervical cancer. She was also into projects that support young single mothers, and offers mentorship.
The scholarship covers tuition and eligible Clarisse to participate in leadership development programs which will help her tackle difficult future challenges and making her having great impact. She will be attached to an experienced mentor, a professional coach and advisors. She will also participate in seminars, retreat and various events that are beneficial to shaping her future for good and leadership roles during the period of her studies.
McCall MacBain Scholarship covers full-time master’s or second-entry professional undergraduate programs at McGill University and must consist at least 45 credits. The program must take place primarily on McGill’s downtown or Macdonald campuses.
