Biomedical Engineering is a profession which research, design, develop and manage processes, tools, equipment and machines use for the quick and safe delivery of medical services. It is the same thing as Medical Engineering.
This field of discipline is not the same as Biomedical Sciences which it's focus is in the area of conducting laboratory test and scientific research to support the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Unlike Biomedical Engineering it does not involve designing and holding of engineering tools (spinners screwdriver.,.) and equipment to deliver their services.
Bioengineering is taught instead of Biomedical Engineering at some universities in Washington State. It is wider in scopes to include application of engineering principles to improve agricultural production, energy sustainability, and more.
