The Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwumi Ambode said at the official commissioning of Lagos State University (LASU) Senate's building that proper reform put in place by his government has turned the story of the institution around for good.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony which was well attended by notable people in the society including Vice President Osinbajo and the former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Ambode said when he came into office in 2015 the institution was contending with a lot of challenges which include backlog of unreleased results, inadequate infrastructure, constant students unrest and low government funding among other.
The governor said on assumption the office his government had to put in place some reforms which are now the turning point of the school for good.
Mr Ambode then mentioned the reform he put in place by his government to include amending the laws of the school, massive upgrading of the school infrastructure, appointing people who are dedicated, experience and with proven record of leadership to the post of governing council of the institution.
The governor later revealed that Senate Building project which was being commissioning was started by his predecessor Mr. Babatunde Fasola (SAN) and other projects that had been put in place include students arcade, LASU Home, Modern Central Library and the new Faculty of Management and Science Building.
