IUO Commissioned Smart Conference Center, Set Sight On Drug Production

Last week at Igbinedion University, Okada (IUO) was very busy one with different events and activities. The week was Information and Computer Technology (ICT) week and 2019 Pharmacy Students Week

As part of the activities to mark the ICT week which was tagged "21st Century Educational Roadmap: The Impact of Technology", a smart conference center with state of art conferencing facilities was commissioned. The commissioning was performed by the College Vice Chancellor, Professor Lawrence Ezemonye in company of Professor Aderounmu Adesola, the National President of Computer Society of Nigeria (CSN) and other ICT professionals and staffs of the institution.

While speaking at the commissioning, the Vice Chancellor stated that the addition of the smart center was born out of the desire of the school management to make staffs and students of the institution more ICT competent.

On the same vein, the Vice Chancellor of the Nigeria premier private university, at the event to mark the school 2019 Pharmacy Students Week stated that the school is willing and ready to establish a drug production unit on the campus.

Professor Lawrence revealed that there had been a proposal for the establishment of Pharm-D before his appointment, assuring the gathering of students and invited guests at the event that every effort would be made to get necessary approvals for the establishment of the drug production unit so that the college could start with drug production especially methylated spirits.

The Vice Chancellor Professor Lawrence Ezemonye later called on the students to aspire for top, telling them the school will always provide and improving teaching facilities in a way that conform with modern day era to encourage learning on the campus.
