NECO rated Ekiti State students number one in 2016 June/July examination performance and Ekiti State University was ranked among the 10 Top Nigeria Universities With Most Employable Graduate.

Despite the above two feats among many others, the former Fountain of Knowledge State is at the back in South West of Nigeria in the number of tertiary institutions paraded.

While some states of South West Nigeria see a leap in the number of their tertiary institutions through the establishment of private universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and so on, it is not like that is the now State of Integrity and Honour.
