Yesterday would forever be a memorable to the educational community in Kwara State and in Nigeria as a nation.
Federal government of Nigeria under the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) Scheme, with pomp and pageantry, commissioned the newly constructed main library at the Kwara State University, Malete, Kwara State.
The multi-million naira library believes to be the largest and the most modern in West Africa in term of the available facilities in it is named after the incumbent President Mohammadu Buhari.
The unveiling ceremony of the library was performed by the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the institution who is currently the Vice Chancellor of University of Abuja Professor Abdulrasheed Na'Allah.
It could be remembered that the university which was the brain work of one of the past Governors of the state Senator Bukola Saraki, until yesterday has no functional library.
The ultra-modern library which consists 12 different units is said to be designed by highly respected Arthitect Faworaja.
The commissioning ceremony saw many dignitaries from accross the country in attendance.
Governor of Kwara State was represented by his deputy Mr Kayode Alabi. Representatives of President Mohammadu Buhari were led by Prof. Elias Oworo, the chairman of TETFUND.
