Augustine Omoregie of UNIBEN ICT Unit Appointed Oracle Academy Representative in Nigeria
Mr. Augustine Omoregie a member of staffs of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit of University of Benin (UNIBEN) recently was appointed the Oracle Academy representative in Nigeria.
The appointment was made after a training conference organised in Nigeria by the Federal Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Oracle University to train staffs of tertiary institutions database technology skill.
Mr. Augustine Omoregie outstanding performance at the training conference couple with his partnership with the Database Technology giant warrant his appointment for the job.
Omoregie has been a senior programmer at University of Benin ICT Unit since 2010. He is a programmer to the core. He has skill and experience in SQL programming, Java programming, PHP, Database programming, software development, web development.
In another development, Augustine Omoregie employer: University of Benin (UNIBEN) has been given the Award of Recognition by same Oracle University.
According to a publication by University of Benin, the award is said to be given to create collaboration between the two prestigious institutions. It was also revealed that the Award of Recognition granted UNIBEN will afford them opportunity to train it staffs and students and to merge Oracle Academy curriculum with the academic curriculum of UNIBEN at no cost. This means that Oracle database curriculum can now be implemented at the University of Benin Department where database applications are taught and that should be at the Department of Computer Science.

At the university, students and organisations from around the world are trained on how to use every products from the stable of Oracle. The training are done on different platforms to suite the need of the students or the organisations. They even go as far as recommending course path for a students to become expert.
