The move was made public by the Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Nairobi Professor Isaac Mbeche via one of his social media accounts this Wednesday 29th of July 2019.
The programme which is being sponsor by Kenya government is run with the support of Israel government.
It was revealed that the programme which was started few years ago has seen more than 300 Kenyan students undertaken advance agricultural training in Israel. The group of Kenyan students that will be going to Israel this year will receive their training at Arava International Centre of Agriculture Training. The training programme will take them eleven months.
The Professor said when the students return back to Kenya after their training programme, they would be equipped with skill to be agric-prenuers. He stated further that the country hope the students will put their knowledge in advance agricultural practice to use to help Kenya achieve it desire for food security.
At the inaugural of the 96 students were Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Water and Sanitation, Hon. Simon Chalagui, Israel Ambassador to Kenya, H E Noah Gender, Hon. Wanyiwa Naeti and many other dignitaries.
