University of Free State Visit University of Ibadan, Seek Collaboration for Development

A delegate from the Free State University, Bloemfontein, South Africa paid a visit to the University of Ibadan yesterday afternoon seeking for collaboration with the Nigerian premier university.


The Free State University delegates led by it Vice Rector Research and International, Professor Coril Witthuhn came to seek for collaboration with UI in the area of curriculum development, border service issues, risk management and the creation of environment good for research for the development of African continent.

Professor Adebola Ekanola, who received the delegates on behalf of the University of Ibadan Vice Chancellor, Professor Olayinka Idowu said the University of Ibadan belief in an international  collaboration and programmes. He said, the school  would put everything in place to make sure that the proposal is materialised.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic University of Ibadan added by saying the partnership could includes the staffs and students exchange programmes and the possibility of having joint programmes that are capable of producing resourceful output for both institution and the Africa in general.

He further stated that the establishment of Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies, the Office of the International Programme and the Office of Research, Innovation and Strategic on the campus is to support and serve international programmes the institution believes in.
