One of the aims of UNIJOS Faculty of Engineering is to produce high quality engineering graduates who are ready to take up challenges in solving problems facing humanity with the knowledge and skill they acquired from the school. That is why they are always in a race to provide best teaching staffs, state of art teaching and learning facilities and conducive environment to achieve this.
Training students in Engineering Courses started at University of Jos a few years after gaining autonomous in 1975. Today, the institution teaches four engineering programmes at undergraduate level which lead to about ten fields of specialisation at post-graduate level.
Below are the available Engineering Programmes at UNIJOS.
All the above mentioned engineering course are five years degree programmes leading to the award of BEng degree certificate in Engineering.
The Faculty of Engineering admit students from anywhere in Nigeria and beyond, irrespective of religious and polical belief and ecthnic background.
Admission Requirements
For a student to be considered for admission to undergraduate degree of any of the above mentioned engineering programme he must have five credit passes from either
The five credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and either Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Geography or Biology and it must not be at more than two sittings.
A student must also pass Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) after which he must also pass the University of Jos (UNIJOS) post UTME, making the required Cut-Off Mark for his chosen engineering programme.
Admission are also granted those seeking enrolment for any of the above programmes through direct entry by GCE A/L, JUPEB, Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND).
They will be admitted to 200 level (GCE A/L, JUPEB and OND candidates) and 300 level (HND candidates) respectively if other conditions are met.
- West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
- Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)/NECO or
- General Certificate in Education Examination (GCE)
