American University of Nigeria (AUN) Engineering Courses and Admission Requirements

American University of Nigeria (AUN) Adamawa  offer five engineering courses at undergraduate level as listed below:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering and
  • Telecommunications Engineering
Each of the engineering courses lasted the duration of five years for (full time) leasing to the awards of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) certifiate to successful students


Admission Requirements

There are two ways by which an applicant can gain admission to study any of the above courses in as much as he satisfy the admission requirements.

  1. Through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) this include Pre-degree programme which qualify students to be admitted into 100 level and
  2. Through Direct Entry, including JUPEB and IJMBE which qualifies students to be admitted to 200 level.


Indirect Entry (UTME)
For a student to be considered for admission to undergraduate degree through UTME (1) above, he must have five credit passes from either:

  • West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
  • Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)/(NECO)
  • General Certificate Examination (GCE)

The five credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and either Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Geography or Biology and it must not be at more than two sittings.

An applicant must pass Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

UTME Subjects. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

The applicant must also pass the American University of Nigeria (AUN) post UTME, making the required Cut-Off Mark for his chosen engineering programme.

Direct Entry Admission
Holders of the following results would be considered for an admission provided he make the minimum scores required

  • GCE Advance Level (A/L): passes in 2 subjects
  • JUPEB
  • IJMBE
  • NCE
  • National Diploma and
  • Higher National Diploma

It is also required of a student to pass one or two combination of the three examinations above before he could be considered for an admission by direct entry.
