Nigerian Air Force Collaborates With University of Ibadan on Research

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Director of Research and Development, Air Vice Marshall Paul Jemitola and his 4-man team were on a courtesy visit on Thursday to the University of Ibadan Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) Reseach, Innovation and Strategic Partnership Professor Olanike K. Adeyemo.

During the visit which has to do with strengthen the existing collaboration between the prestigious university and NAF, AVM Paul Jemitola expressed his gratitude for the warm reception accorded his team.

The Air Force officer said the Nigerian Air Force is ready to strengthen the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) earlier established expressing his desire to give the collaboration the required attention needed to achieve the aims and objectives behind the memorandum.

In her response during the collaborative meeting which was held in the Council Chamber of the University of Ibadan, the DVC Research, Innovation, and Strategic Partnerships, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo said the University has been established to impact society through research that will contribute to national development. She was of the opinion that the collaboration will create an enabling environment for cross-fertilisation of ideas with the intellectual capacity already embedded in UI.

Other members of the visiting team were Wg. Cdr. Norman Osa-Uwagboe, Deputy Director, Directorate of Research and Development; Sgn. Ldr. Alhassan Dahiru, Air Force Research and Development Centre (Kaduna) and Flt. Lt. Nkem Ofodile, Assistant Director, Air Force Research and Development Centre.
Others in attendance were the Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Faluyi ably represented by the Deputy Registrar, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Oluwole Dada,
and the Director, Directorate of Public Communication, Mr. Olatunji Oladejo.
