The commendation was made by the visiting Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) President Nazi Nnamdi Anthony Okwuadigbo, who had come to pay the Rector a courtesy visit in his office ahead of the ICAN National Conference which hold in Ilaro at Hotel Frontier on February 3, 2020.
According to a report from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Polytechnic Ilaro is one of the top 10 polytechnics in Nigeria, the school has been adjudged be the most sought after polytechnic in the country since 2014. In 2018 the polytechnic was second best in Nigeria only behind Federal Polytechnic, Nakede.
Under the leadership of Arc. Dr. Aluko several patents were granted the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro for various innovation from the institution.

While responding, Arc. Dr. Olusegun Aluko said, the standard set by the professional accountant body in conducting his series of examinations has contributed immensely to making the polytechnic one of the best in Nigeria.
On the entourage of the ICAN President was a past President of the professional accountant body, Senator Kola Bajomo.
Also present at the occasion were some of the management team of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro including the Deputy Rector, Registrar, Bursar, Poly Librarian, Dean (SMS), DR Rectory, members of Accountancy and Bursary Departments.
