Geotechnical Engineering is a branch of Civil Engineering. While may universities teach it as one of their major single courses, it is not so with many other universities: with them it is part of Civil Engineering course modules. That mean, as a Civil Engineering students you are going to be taught the rudimentary of Geotechnical but if taught as a major courses students are going to be taught in a more elaborative way.

Geotechnical is not taught at University of Nottingham either as undergraduate course or postgraduate course.
